Cross Docking

There are retailers who have a network of Distribution Centres (DC) that support their store network, this is known as Cross Docking.

Within an EDI order the retailer is able to advise, from an invoicing perspective, the Head Office Location (the Buying Office), the Final Delivery Location plus the Retailer Cross Dock Location.

When Cross Docking is required the Retailer Cross Dock DC details need to be stored and passed down to the warehouse so that the shipment can be labelled correctly.
